Artificial Intelligence and Recruitment: Top AI Careers in 2025

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has come a long way – from a science fiction concept to a practical tool that supports a wide range of industries. Today, AI automates processes, analyzes data, and generates innovative solutions. More and more companies recognize its potential and are integrating AI into their operations, which significantly increases the demand for qualified professionals in this field.

According to data from No Fluff Jobs, the number of AI-related job postings in Poland grew by 22% in 2024 compared to the previous year. This trend is likely to accelerate further as more enterprises adopt AI technologies.

How much do AI developers make in Poland

Salary is undoubtedly one of the key factors when choosing a career path. The IT sector has consistently offered some of the highest salaries on the market, and the AI field is no exception. So, how much do professionals working in Artificial Intelligence earn?

Most in-demand skills: Python, Transformers, NLTK, SpaCy, BERT.

How to get a job in AI in 2025

Starting a career in AI often requires a degree in computer science, mathematics, robotics, or data analytics. Leading technical universities in Poland, such as Warsaw University of Technology, Wrocław University of Science and Technology, AGH University of Krakow, and the University of Warsaw, offer specialized AI programs.

However, not having a degree doesn’t mean the door is closed. Alternative learning paths include:

Online courses (e.g., Coursera, Udemy, DataCamp, edX);

Tech bootcamps (e.g., SDA, CodersLab);

Certifications from tech giants: Google Cloud ML, Microsoft AI Fundamentals, IBM Applied AI.

The demand for AI education is rapidly growing. According to Coursera’s data, over 3.2 million learners enrolled in generative AI courses in 2024 alone, showing how much interest there is worldwide, especially in countries like India and the USA.

The most important factors are hands-on skills: Python proficiency, knowledge of ML libraries, data processing, and model development. Aspiring AI professionals should engage in open-source projects, participate in AI hackathons, and build a strong portfolio (e.g., on GitHub). In addition, understanding how recruitment platforms evaluate candidates can give job seekers an edge in the hiring process.

Challenges in Artificial Intelligence career development and recruitment

While AI offers attractive salaries and exciting development opportunities, it also presents challenges. Rapidly evolving technologies require constant learning and adaptability. At the same time, competition for top roles is increasing. Candidates must demonstrate not only technical expertise but also communication, creativity, and flexibility. In today’s IT world, soft skills are more valuable than ever.

From the employer’s perspective, Artificial Intelligence and recruitment go hand in hand. Hiring top AI talent has become a race. Companies must offer more than just attractive salaries – flexible work arrangements, a culture of innovation, and growth opportunities are now essential. The recruitment process is evolving to keep up with the future of hiring.

Interestingly, AI is also changing recruitment itself. Automated tools are increasingly used in the hiring process to screen resumes, schedule interviews, and assess candidates. While this can increase efficiency, over-reliance on algorithms, chatbots, or generic messaging may discourage top applicants. Striking the right balance between automation and human touch in the recruiting process is one of today’s biggest challenges for recruiters.

The reality of IT job ads – what really attracts IT specialists?

The IT job market today is exceptionally competitive. On one hand, there are thousands of students and graduates from computer science programs, and on the other hand, companies are increasingly determined to fight for experienced and specialized candidates. The best specialists are not actively looking for a job. They already have good conditions, exciting projects, and do not feel the need for a change. Therefore, IT recruitment increasingly means the need to reach out to passive candidates – those who need to be convinced that it’s worth reading the job ad at all.

Employment type and work mode

The type of contract and work mode are among the first factors candidates pay attention to. In 2024, over 62% of job ads included an employment contract, and B2B was featured in more than 58% of listings, according to inhire.io data. This means that more and more companies are offering candidates a choice, providing various cooperation models. B2B is dominant among mid and senior specialists, while junior roles tend to feature employment contracts more often. Additionally, for juniors, it is common to find contracts for specific tasks (around 18%).

Remote and hybrid work still dominate the IT sector, with job ads for fully on-site positions making up only 10.43% of the market. Interestingly, 57% of job ads offered hybrid work, which is becoming the golden mean between flexibility and team contact. Candidates have clear preferences: 67% prefer the hybrid model, and 30% prefer fully remote work. Employers who clearly define work rules – how many days in the office, working hours, and whether there is flexibility – gain trust and attention.

IT experience and tough times for juniors

Entering the IT job market is becoming more difficult, especially for those with little experience. According to No Fluff Jobs, in 2024, over 55% of job ads were aimed at seniors, while offers for juniors accounted for just 6%, a 2% decrease from the previous year.

Interestingly, it’s the mid-level specialists who have lost the most – their share in the market dropped to 38.4%, a 10% decrease from 2023. This means that even those with a few years of experience may struggle to find a new position – especially if they are expecting higher rates or more advanced projects.

Salaries and benefits

In the IT industry, money still matters – but it’s not the only factor. Transparency in salary ranges and the actual value of benefits are also crucial.

According to the inhire.io report, the median gross salary for employment contracts (UoP) in 2024 was PLN 16,935, and for B2B it was PLN 21,182 net. Seniors could expect an average of PLN 24,118 (B2B) and PLN 20,652 (UoP), while juniors earned PLN 9,846 and PLN 8,516, respectively.

However, candidates are increasingly expecting more than just an attractive salary. Benefits are gaining importance, especially those that directly contribute to work comfort and development.

Most common benefits in IT job ads:

Private medical care

Sports card

Training budget

Work in a small team

Life insurance

Most desired benefits by candidates:

4-day work week

Flexible working hours

Additional vacation days

Private healthcare

Professional training and courses

It’s important to clearly describe what “flexibility” or “work-life balance” actually means. The more specific the messaging, the greater the trust of the candidate.

Technologies and requirements for IT specialists

In 2024, the largest percentage of job ads targeted specialists working with JavaScript (11.24%), Java (10.49%), and the broad field of Data (9.01%) – including analytics, Big Data, and data science. The most sought-after roles were backend developers, system administrators, DevOps engineers, system architects, and security specialists.

Job ads should specify technical requirements as precisely as possible. Instead of a long list of “nice to have” skills, focus on a few key technologies that the candidate will actually work with. Soft skills are also becoming more important – 69% of managers admit that they are now more crucial than ever. Therefore, it’s worth signaling that skills such as teamwork, communication, or independence are valued – especially if the team works in agile or distributed environments.

Who are companies looking to hire?

The most sought-after specialists in 2024 were backend developers, IT administrators, project managers, and DevOps engineers. As for technologies, JavaScript (11.24%), Java (10.49%), and Data (analytics, Big Data, data science) (9.01%) dominate.

Most popular programming languages:

SQL

Python

Java

There is also an increasing number of job ads in the field of artificial intelligence – in Q4 2024, 1,496 AI-related job ads were published, marking a 63% increase compared to the beginning of the year.

It’s important for job ads to include specific technical requirements – instead of a long list of “nice to haves,” focus on real technologies and tools that the candidate will actually use.

Soft skills also matter – 69% of managers agree that they are more important now than a few years ago. Teamwork, communication, and responsibility – it’s worth showing that such traits are appreciated in your company. Want to know which soft skills are gaining importance? Read our article here.

What should a successful job ad include to attract top tech talent?

A modern IT job ad should be clear, specific, and aligned with market realities. Clearly defined employment type, salary, requirements, and technology description are an absolute minimum. Candidates want to know what the job will look like, who they’ll be working with, and what they can gain. A well-written job ad not only increases the number of valuable applications – it’s also the first step in building your company’s image as a professional and modern employer. In today’s IT market, your employer brand increasingly determines the success of recruitment.

Tech job market in Poland and Europe in 2025

In recent years, the IT job market has been rapidly evolving, both in Poland and across Europe. Tech professionals are becoming increasingly aware of their expectations and preferences, while companies strive to tailor their offers to attract and hire the best candidates. What draws experts to the IT industry? What changes are we observing in work patterns, and what are the forecasts for the future?

What attracts tech talent?

The growing competition for talent in the global IT labor market has made candidates more selective. According to the European Transparent IT Job Market Report 2024, the most important factors that attract specialists to job openings are:

The possibility of remote work

Salary

Interesting projects

What frustrates IT specialists?

Although remote work opportunities and attractive salaries are crucial, certain factors discourage candidates from applying for job offers. Reports indicate that the biggest frustrations are related to:

Lack of feedback – As many as 37% of specialists cite the lack of response to applications or feedback as a significant issue in the recruitment process.

Overly long recruitment processes – 31% of respondents believe that the number of recruitment stages should be reduced. An ideal recruitment process should consist of two stages, according to 67% of respondents.

Lack of salary transparency – 30% of specialists consider the absence of salary information in job postings a major drawback that discourages them from applying.

Remote work in 2025 – is it still the future of tech job market?

Remote work has become one of the key trends in the IT labor market, both in Poland and throughout Europe. According to the Solidjobs Report, 93% of surveyed specialists stated that they have the option to work remotely at least one day per week, while 45% of employees can work fully remotely. Moreover, 80% of respondents prefer remote or hybrid work, while only 3% would like to work fully on-site. Thus, while not all IT specialists are enthusiastic about fully remote work, the vast majority appreciate flexibility.

How does this look in Poland? The Bulldogjob Report indicates a trend of returning to office work, at least partially. In 2025, 59.9% of respondents reported working fully remotely, a decline from 83.7% in 2022. Nevertheless, workplace flexibility remains attractive to most employees, who still prefer hybrid or fully remote work arrangements.

This is due to numerous advantages of remote work, such as:

No need for commuting – 43%

Increase in job applications for IT positions

Data from the NoFluffJobs report indicates an increase in the number of applicants for IT job offers in Poland. In 2024, the average number of applications per job offer rose from 40 to 44, with the most significant changes observed in Embedded positions (increase from 13 to 25 applications) and Frontend roles (from 113 to 149 applications). This shows that the labour market in Poland is becoming increasingly competitive, with more people seeking employment in IT.

The highest number of job offers in Poland is in the following fields:

Which technologies are most in demand?

Among Polish developers, the most commonly used programming languages are:

The impact of Artificial Intelligence on the IT job market

Artificial Intelligence is becoming an increasingly integral part of developers’ work. In the Bulldogjob Report, half of the surveyed professionals view AI as an opportunity for career development, while 15.6% see it as a threat. Concerns about AI-driven changes in employment are growing, as the percentage of those fearing AI has risen from 9.4% in 2023 to 15.6% in 2025.

Meanwhile, in the European Transparent IT Job Market Report 2024, 82% of specialists believe Artificial Intelligence will not replace their jobs within the next five years. Many respondents consider AI a useful tool in IT work, with 20% of specialists regularly using AI tools in their daily tasks and 60% using them to some extent. Only 15% of surveyed professionals state that they do not use AI tools at all.

Although Artificial Intelligence is useful, developers remain cautious about AI-generated code. Only 3% fully trust AI-generated code, 30% trust it to a limited extent, and over half always verify the generated code.

Evolution of state of the tech industry

The IT labor market in Poland and Europe is full of challenges. Tech professionals primarily expect workplace flexibility, competitive salaries, and engaging projects. At the same time, expectations regarding the hiring process are evolving, with a focus on simplification and greater salary transparency. The flexibility of remote work, the increasing number of job applications in Poland, and the growing role of Artificial Intelligence are key trends shaping the tech job market in 2025 and beyond.

Although the future of this industry is full of challenges, it also presents exciting opportunities for both employers and employees.

AI in Poland – A market full of opportunities

Poland is becoming one of the most important AI hubs in Europe. The demand for AI/ML specialists continues to grow, as confirmed by various industry reports analyzing trends in job postings. In Q4 2024, the total number of AI-related job offers in Poland reached nearly 1,500, demonstrating the sector’s rapid expansion.

The AI sector continues to experience stable growth, with the number of published job offers in this category increasing by 21.7% year-over-year (2024 vs. 2023), as highlighted in the NoFluffJobs report “Rynek pracy IT 2024/2025. Czy branża wyjdzie na prostą?”.

Demand for AI specialists is particularly high in major cities such as Warsaw, Krakow, Wroclaw, and Gdansk. Employers offer competitive salaries, especially for B2B contracts, with net earnings ranging from 20,000 to 28,000 PLN per month (~4,500–6,500 EUR). For employment contracts, salaries typically range from 16,000 to 23,000 PLN gross (~3,500–5,500 EUR).

The job market for AI/ML roles in Poland is diverse, with positions such as Machine Learning Engineers, Data Scientists, NLP Engineers, MLOps Engineers, and AI Research Engineers in high demand. Major global tech companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, IBM, and Intel, as well as prominent local firms like Allegro, CD Projekt, and deepsense.ai, are actively recruiting for these roles in Poland.

With continuous technological advancements and a growing demand for AI professionals, Poland’s AI job market is expected to keep expanding, offering even more opportunities for those looking to develop their careers in this industry.

Why invest in Polish AI specialists?

Poland is an attractive destination for companies looking for AI specialists for several reasons:

Competitive costs – compared to Western Europe and the US, Polish AI experts offer world-class skills at lower employment costs.

Local talent with a global reach – Polish AI engineers are highly valued worldwide for their technical skills and innovative approaches.

Growth in innovation – an increasing number of Polish companies and startups are developing proprietary AI solutions, and the government supports the sector through grant programs and research initiatives.

Recruitment in Poland: What every employer should know about employment in Poland

Recruiting employees requires not only knowledge of the market and local laws, but also an understanding of the specifics of the work culture. Before hiring new team members, an employer must not only choose an appropriate form of employment that is satisfying for both sides, but also follow legal requirements regarding vacations, salaries and other employment-related aspects.

Types of contracts in Poland

There are several forms of employment available in Poland, and the choice of the right contract depends on the type of work performed and the expectations of both sides. Each form has advantages that may be relevant to different groups of employees. Professionals in the IT industry often prefer the B2B form because of higher salaries and flexibility. On the other hand, employees in manual professions most often rely on job security, so an employment contract is the preferred form of employment for them. For students, a contract of mandate can be attractive, which in Poland comes with no obligation to pay contributions, resulting in a higher net salary for students under 26. Let’s take a closer look at all available forms of employment.

Employment contract – provides the greatest protection for the employee. It is concluded for a probationary, fixed-term or permanent period. Regulates rights to vacation, sick pay and other benefits. Both parties to the contract are required to observe a notice period, which, depending on seniority, may be 2 weeks, 1 month or 3 months.

Contract of mandate – a flexible form of cooperation, often used for temporary projects. The employee is not entitled to vacation, and Social Security contributions are often reduced.

Contract of specific work – an agreement to perform a specific task, with no obligation to pay Social Security contributions.

B2B contract – cooperation in the form of self-employment. Popular in the IT and consulting industries, it allows greater flexibility, but requires the employee to register a business. It is attractive to employees because of higher wages compared to other contracts, while for the employer the aspect of reduced operating costs is significant, among other things.

An employer who wants to assess an employee’s qualifications can enter into a probationary contract with the employee. A trial period employment contract is concluded for a period not exceeding:

1 month – in case of the intention to conclude an employment contract for a fixed term of less than 6 months;

2 months – in case of the intention to conclude an employment contract for a fixed term of at least 6 months and less than 12 months.

Legal requirements of employment in Poland

In Poland, the employment of workers is governed by comprehensive labor laws and social security regulations designed to protect the rights of employees and ensure fair working conditions. Employers must adhere to several key obligations, including:

Contract registration – All employment contracts must be formally registered with the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) within specified deadlines.

Social Security contributions and taxes – Employers are legally obligated to remit social security contributions on behalf of their employees. These contributions cover various benefits, including pension, disability, and healthcare.

Medical examinations and health and safety training – Every newly hired employee must undergo an initial examination and health and safety training.

Time records – The employer is required to keep records of working hours and pay wages as agreed.

Salaries and benefits in 2026

Salaries in Poland vary by industry and location, but the national minimum wage is mandatory, which from January 2026 is:

PLN 4,806 gross per month for full-time employees;

PLN 31,40 gross per hour for freelance and part-time contracts.

The national minimum wage changes periodically.

Non-wage benefits are becoming more common and expected by employees. Examples of popular benefits that are most commonly offered by employers are:

Private medical care;

Sports card (Multisport);

Flexible working hours or remote working;

Subsidized courses and training.

Before deciding on the benefits offered at a company, it’s a useful idea to learn about the expectations of professionals in the particular industry in which you want to hire. Industries differ in their expectations, and tailoring benefits to the needs of potential employees increases the chances of attracting top talent. In the IT industry, popular benefits among Polish professionals include:

4-day workday;

Flexible working hours;

Additional days off;

Private health care;

Access to training and courses.

Layoffs and termination of contracts

The termination of an employment relation in Poland requires adherence to the regulations regarding the notice period, which depends on the type of contract and length of service. The notice period is calculated from the first day of the calendar month following the month in which the notice was given.

Probationary contract – notice of termination with 3 to 14 days depending on the length of the contract.

3 days if the trial period does not exceed 2 weeks;

1 week if the trial period is longer than 2 weeks;

2 weeks if the trial period is 3 months.

Fixed-term and indefinite-term contract:

2 weeks – for employees employed up to 6 months;

1 month – for length of service contained in the period from 6 months to 3 years;

3 months after working more than 3 years with the employer.

However, the length of the notice period may also be determined by the terms of the contract.

Days off and vacation entitlement

Every employee employed under an employment contract is entitled to vacations, regulated by the Labor Code. Employees are entitled to days off in the form of:

Vacation leave:

20 days – for employees with less than 10 years of seniority;

26 days – for employees with at least 10 years of seniority;

In the case of part-time employment, the number of vacation days is determined in proportion to the full-time position. For example, with part-time employment, 10 or 13 days of leave are granted.

Leave on demand: 4 days per year, included in vacation leave.

Parental leave: 32 weeks (to be shared between parents).

Maternity leave: 20 weeks, 6 of which can be taken before childbirth.

Paternity leave: 2 weeks, to be taken within 12 months of the child’s birth.

Health (sick) leave: up to 33 days per year, paid 80% of salary paid by the employer.

Public holidays: an employee is entitled to days off during holidays that are statutory holidays (e.g. January 1, May 3, November 1). You can read more about public holidays in Poland in our post here.

In addition, employees are entitled to other days off, for example:

Occasional leave:

2 days – your own wedding, the birth of a child, the funeral of loved ones (parents, spouse, child);

1 day – wedding of a child or funeral of one of the family members.

Child care leave: an additional 2 days leave when the employee raises a child up to the age of 14.

The most popular job portals in Poland

Employers and candidates both have a number of platforms at their disposal that make it easy to find the perfect offers and the best talent. Here are some of the most popular sites in Poland:

Effective Recruitment Process: How to improve the recruitment process and attract the top talent more effectively?

Recruiting the best professionals can be a challenge even for experienced HR departments. Increasing demands and awareness of candidates as well as changes in the job landscape and attitudes toward work are requiring more and more effort from employers. Streamlining recruitment processes is becoming key to attracting qualified candidates in a variety of fields. But how can employers effectively improve hiring process and thus provide their company with the best employees?

Streamline your recruitment process

In order to recruit the best talent for specialized positions at their companies, employers must ensure that they stand out from the crowd and ensure that not only the offer but also the communication with potential candidates is appealing. Poor communication, lack of feedback or unclear job offers are some of the factors that can cause potential candidates to drop out of your recruiting process. What elements are most offputting during a job search?

What factors when contacting recruiters are frustrating according to candidates in the IT industry?

Lack of information about salary ranges – 64%

Sending offers inadequate for the position/skills – 56%

Sending non-personalized messages – 49%

Lack of familiarization with resumes – 45%

Lack of knowledge of the job specifications – 42%

Unclear and difficult to understand tasks – 22%

Lack of interest during the interview – 17%

Inappropriate questions and comments – 13%

Mistaking name or gender – 11%

What are the main reasons candidates in the IT industry reject job offers?

Low salary – 60%

Bad impression after the recruitment interview – 57%

Long process of waiting for an offer – 43%

Unsuitable work culture – 29%

Different salary than stated in the job ad – 27%

Too high requirements for the position – 25%

Lack of feedback – 24%

How does it look among blue-collar workers? The issues that most often discourage candidates from applying for jobs are:

Lack of information about the salary – 62%

Poorly detailed job description – 52%

Job description inconsistent with the position – 38%

Incomprehensible job title – 35%

Lack of information about the place of work – 32%

The need to send a cover letter – 27%

The need to fill out additional forms – 23%

In addition, 73% of blue-collar workers perceive an easy and quick recruitment process as a major advantage for employers. 56% of them are more likely to apply for an offer from an employer who guarantees a recruitment process no longer than 2 weeks.

Considering the perspective and expectations of candidates can be key to creating an effective recruitment process and thus finding the best talent. Therefore, what is worth keeping in mind when creating a recruitment strategy?

More effective job postings

A candidate’s first contact with a company is often made via a job advertisement. It is element that determines whether a potential employee will be interested in the offer. A confusing job title, inadequate and imprecise descriptions of the required skills and tasks can quickly discourage an applicant. That’s why it’s worthwhile to make sure your job postings are clear, attractive and accurately describe expectations and the benefits offered.

Remember to write the advertisement in simple but engaging language that will attract candidates. Advertise not only on job portals – in many industries such as IT or marketing social media will work much better. However, remember to tailor the portal to your audience. Blue-collar workers will look for jobs in a different way than people in managerial positions or those in the IT industry. You can use social media platforms, job boards or community groups. Choosing the right place can determine the success of your search for the new hire.

Provide a positive candidate experience

Positive candidate experience is an element that is gaining more and more recognition, and every year more and more companies are starting to care about it. What does a positive candidate experience contribute to? An applicant, even despite not being accepted by the employer, will be left with a positive impression of the company. He will be inclined to share this opinion and in the future will be more likely to return to your company for further recruitments. It’s also important that communication with candidates is regular and transparent. They should be kept informed of the status of the recruitment, with their questions and concerns answered quickly and honestly. Personalizing communication and paying attention to every detail can pay long-term benefits in the form of a better company reputation.

Simplicity and clarity as a key to success in effective recruitment

The recruitment process should be clear, understandable and not contain unnecessary steps that can discourage a candidate from participating. An overly long, complicated process with many steps can result in frustration and the loss of valuable candidates. Ideally, recruitment should consist of no more than a few, well-thought-out steps that are clearly defined and communicated to candidates from the beginning. Transparency of the process and prompt communication of the next steps can significantly improve the candidate experience and increase the effectiveness of recruitment.

Consider also standardizing certain procedures – clear evaluation criteria, standardized questions during interviews and clearly defined timelines for the various stages of recruitment will ensure that all candidates are evaluated according to the same standards. This will not only make recruitment more efficient, but also improve the company’s image as a professional employer.

Modern solutions in recruitment

Today’s technology and tools based on Artificial Intelligence offer many opportunities for the recruitment industry. Collecting and analyzing resumes and other steps in the recruitment process take a lot of time and require a big amount of energy from recruiters. For this reason, AI tools provide great support in recruitment. We wrote more about the possibilities of using solutions based on new technology in our article AI in recruitment: How modern technologies are changing the way we recruit in 2024?, which we invite you to read. You will find out in the article what modern solutions you can implement in your company to improve recruitment processes.

Training for your HR team

Recruiters are crucial people in the recruitment process, which is the reason why it should be so important to ensure regular development of their competencies. How? By providing them with quality materials or trainings. Regular training in recruitment techniques, psychology or required technologies significantly affects the quality of recruitment and allows you to find and recruit the best candidates more effectively.

ITSelecta comes to your help in this regard in the form of a course for recruiters in IT recruitment. It will provide your HR department with essential knowledge on recruitment processes, effective ways on how to search for talent, market updates and many other valuable tips and information on IT recruitment.

Benefit from the services of a recruitment company and recruit top talent

Working with a recruitment agency saves time and resources that a company can allocate to developing key areas of its business. Experienced recruiters take full responsibility for the recruitment process, using their access to a broad database of candidates from various industries. This enables them to quickly and accurately find the people best fitted to the company’s unique characteristics and culture. What is more, their knowledge and experience allow them to reach out to qualified professionals, including those who are not actively looking for a job. Working with a recruitment agency can therefore bring long-term benefits, supporting the development of your team.

ITSelecta offers comprehensive recruitment services: from RPO to BPO & SSC recruitment. We also offer employer branding support, providing our clients with the service of employer branding videos that will enhance their employer image and thus contribute to the success of recruiting and retaining the best professionals in the company’s workforce.

What does cooperation with us in the RPO model look like?

As a recruitment agency, we take care of every element of the recruitment process – from the creation of attractive advertisements, through the selection process and interviews with candidates, to the recommendation of the best professionals, tailored to your needs. Our cooperation process is based on several key stages that ensure the highest quality of services.

The first step is an in-depth analysis of your recruitment needs and business objectives. During a meeting with you, we familiarise ourselves with the specifics of your company, its organisational culture and the detailed requirements for the candidates you are looking for.

Next, we develop a customised recruitment model based on the information gathered. We select the right talent acquisition channels, create engaging advertisements and plan step-by-step activities to make the process smooth and effective.

In the next stage, we implement the established plan, carry out a precise selection of candidates and conduct interviews to identify only those who match your requirements best. We stay in constant contact to respond to your changing needs and challenges.

At the end of the selection process, we present you with the best candidates. However, our partnership does not end with the hiring – we support both you and the new employees during the onboarding process. We stay in touch to monitor your satisfaction with the specialists you hire and ensure the long-term success of your recruitment.

How much do IT Specialists earn? Salaries in the IT industry in Poland 2024

The choice of an IT career by entry-level employees is largely determined by technologies and programming languages. An important factor is also the demand for specialists in a particular field, which makes it much easier to choose a career path. However, the key issue that often determines the choice of a particular specialization in IT, which is salary, should not be overlooked.

Employment in the IT industry in Poland in 2024

In 2024, the IT job market sees a noticeable increase in interest in job offers. According to the No Fluff Jobs report, the average number of applications for a single job offer in the first quarter of 2024 was 51, compared to an average of 33 applications in the previous year. Job seekers are now sending an average of more than 14 applications per week.

The biggest change is for the Frontend Developer position, for which the number of applications increased by 120 (from 67 to 187 applications). There was also a significant increase for the Agile/Scrum Master position, where the average number of applications increased by 53 (from 64 to 117 applications). The Tester position is also in growing demand, with an average of 100 applicants per offer in 2024, up from 52 applications last year. In addition, the number of applications for the Backend Developer position increased by 25 (from 28 to 53) compared to 2023.

What affects salary in IT?

The IT industry has become known among many for its attractive working conditions including high salaries. Although the demand for specialists is changing, and the market situation affects many aspects of the industry, salaries consistently remain high. Year after year, earnings in the IT industry in Poland continue to grow. According to the Bulldogjob report, the average salary in the IT industry on a B2B contract in 2 years increased by PLN 4,650 (in 2022 it was PLN 17,351, in 2023 – PLN 20,604, in 2024 – PLN 22,011).

Salary in Poland in the IT industry is affected by many factors, including:

Experience level – it is clear that a senior employee with years of experience will earn more than someone just entering the job market. The difference can be as much as several thousand PLN gross, depending on the specialty.

Location – the place of work is also of great importance. In large cities such as Krakow, Warsaw or Wroclaw, which are the main places with the largest pool of IT specialists, the salary will be higher than in smaller towns.

Form of employment – the main forms of employment preferred by employers and employees in the IT industry are UoP and B2B (according to the previously mentioned report, more than 50% of respondents work on UoP and more than 37% on B2B). Depending on the form chosen, remuneration will differ, where on B2B it will be relatively higher than on UoP. However, a contract of employment, despite the lower salary, is also associated with salary stability and social benefits.

Skills – regardless of experience, the skills possessed by candidates may vary and be at a different level even in the same area of specialization. This is another factor that determines not only the employment of a given candidate but also the amount of his salary.

Size of the company – large companies have much larger budgets than micro and small companies. For this reason, the salary will also vary, even by several thousand for the same position.

Average salaries in the IT industry for specific specializations

Below we present a table of salary data for different positions in the IT industry for Employment Contract (UoP) and B2B. Amounts are stated in PLN, gross.

The Future of Salaries in the IT Industry

Salaries in the IT industry are still among the highest compared to other industries. Remuneration levels are shaped by market and technological trends as well as changes in the demand for given positions. The increase in demand for experienced professionals, as well as the growing demands of employers, may be a factor that will largely shape changes in IT professionals’ salaries in the coming years. While seniority plays a big role, in niche, emerging specialties it may be less important. From an employer’s perspective, however, it is important to invest in the development of their employees, thereby attracting and retaining the best professionals in the market. Aside from a competitive salary, this is one of the most important trading cards they can offer top talent.

The future of technology: what are the leading programming languages in 2024?

The IT industry is undoubtedly an ever-evolving sector and thus trends and preferences for technologies and programming languages are constantly changing. Every year we see increased interest in selected programming languages, where some have consistently held their leading positions for years. However, with the development of technologies including AI, ML or cyber security solutions, some programming languages are growing in importance.

In this article, we will explore the topic of the most popular programming languages in 2024 and also check which ones are showing an increasing trend of interest. We will discuss the main features and areas of use of the most popular ones. On the other hand, we will highlight those languages that are gaining more and more interest due to their unique features and growing community of programmers.

Programming language as a key factor

Programming languages are an important factor in IT professionals’ choice of career path, and their popularity can effectively facilitate this choice. Languages that are the most popular may prove easier to learn, as access to materials or training on the market is correspondingly greater. Depending on the language chosen, the number of job opportunities may also vary. Those languages that are less popular, on the other hand, may have a higher demand for specialists, higher salaries or increasing interest in future years, but at the same time leave a more difficult threshold for entry into the market.

How Can You Excel in 2024? Insights into Poland’s IT Colleges and Courses

The best IT higher education institutions in Poland

In today’s competitive labor market, competence development is extremely important. The IT industry continues to play a key role in the Polish market, which means that investing in education in this field should be equally important. Technical universities in Poland are important in educating professionals who drive the development of innovative technologies and industries. Poland boasts a wide range of educational offerings in IT, including many renowned universities. These institutions, thanks to their high rankings, provide prospective students with valuable information that helps them choose the best place to study.

Young people preparing to enter the labor market have a choice of both higher education and vocational education training. There are currently more than 400 universities and colleges in Poland, including 48 public universities, 23 of which are technical universities. In 2021, there were 68,035 ICT students and 13,443 ICT graduates, including about 16,000 computer science graduates.

Full-time studies at public universities are free of charge for Polish students and foreigners who begin their studies in Poland under the conditions applicable to Polish citizens. The lack of tuition fees makes Poland a student-friendly country. Polish universities also welcome international students who are willing to get a degree in Poland. Many universities and schools in Poland offer student exchanges, which can benefit Polish students who wish to study abroad. This influences the exchange of experiences between people from different cultures and positively influences diversity at Polish universities.

List of the best technical universities in Poland

Many universities specialize in technical majors such as computer science, applied computer science and cybersecurity which highly prepare students for employment in these fields.

Among the best technical universities in Poland according to the Perspektywy ranking are:

Warsaw University of Technology – one of the largest and most prestigious technical universities in Poland. It offers a rich selection of specializations related to computer science and software engineering, including applied computer science, artificial intelligence and bioinformatics.

Young people can choose from vocational training, programming courses and workshops, which are popular forms of learning in this field. Many of them are also available online, making it possible to learn from anywhere, anytime.

IT Courses and Certifications in information technology

IT courses and training are approached in different ways. Proponents of courses believe that they are an ideal way to gain knowledge and skills, which at the same time contributes to getting a better-paying job. However, there are also opponents of this form of learning, claiming that IT courses are of little use, and that those who take them do not gain practical knowledge, and that the certificates themselves are acquired wholesale. In such situations, it is worth betting on quality rather than the number of certificates earned.

There are many IT courses and trainings available on the market. When starting a job, a specific certificate can make a candidate stand out in the eyes of recruiters. However, it is necessary to skillfully choose courses so that the knowledge actually gained in them is useful, and the certificate of the training itself makes itself known as the one actually “professional”. For this reason, it is advisable to choose certification in well-known and reputable companies and organizations that offer many useful and practical exercises.

However, it should not be forgotten that while it is worth having a certificate with which we can support the skills we have, these very skills are the most important for getting your dream job in IT. Students must remember that practical knowledge and skills are key, and certifications should be a supplement to them, not a substitute.

Opinion of programmers and recruiters

When recruiting IT specialists, recruiters look at both knowledge of specific technologies and experience, as well as acquired knowledge. IT specialists have different options for learning: some choose to go to college, others attend bootcamps or professional courses, and still others choose to learn on their own with the help of tutorials and materials available online. How are the different forms of education evaluated by recruiters?

According to the No Fluff Jobs report, recruiters rated the various forms of education in the IT industry as follows:

Self-study: 4.29/5.0

Specialized courses: 3.94/5.0

Formal education e.g. College: 3.44/5.0

Programming school: 3.19/5.0

Recruiters’ appreciation of the knowledge possessed by self-taught professionals is evident. The same recruiters cited knowledge of a specific technology as the most important factor in deciding whether to hire for an IT position – 88.1%. A college degree is in third place, suggesting that recruiters are increasingly focusing on actual skills rather than formal higher education in Poland.

Where do IT professionals get their knowledge from?

Additionally, according to the Bulldogjob report, the favorite mode of learning for more than 58% of the IT professionals surveyed is video content. When asked about the sources of knowledge necessary for their work, they indicated:

Documentation – 76.2%

Online courses and materials available on YouTube – 74.9%

Co-workers and friends – 64.5%

Blogs and thematic websites – 63.5%

Online forums – 49.5%

Paid courses and trainings – 43.3%

Books – 38.8%

Conferences and meetups – 24.9%

Only 4.8% pointed to studies as a source of knowledge needed for work. The data suggests that people working in the IT industry most often acquire the knowledge they need for their daily work from the Internet, choosing courses and training more readily than studies.

Courses and training, despite the presence of opponents, can contribute significantly to competence development and even promotion. A good course from a reputable institution, especially in high-demand fields, can help you get a better-paying and more stable job. Qualitative certifications can distinguish a candidate in the job market, showing commitment to development and possession of advanced skills. However, it is important to remember that the purpose of courses is to gain knowledge. It is the actual skills and knowledge that ultimately determine employment in a given position.

The Most Desired Skills on the IT Labor Market in Poland

The IT industry is changing rapidly from year to year, driven by the development and introduction of new technologies and solutions to streamline work. While the importance of artificial intelligence is growing, soft skills are also increasingly in demand.

According to the 2024 Bulldogjob report, the most popular programming languages among respondents were:

SQL – 46%

JavaScript – 37%

Python – 31%

Java – 27%

C# – 21%

In addition to technical skills, candidates for IT positions must have the right soft skills. According to recruiters, the most important of these are:

Teamwork – 90.9%

Flexibility – 87.4%

Independence – 86.8%

Communicativeness – 86.6%

Problem solving – 86.2%

Dealing with criticism – 81%

Forecasted trends in new job development indicate an increase in demand for cyber security specialists, due to growing cyber threats.
