How to attract a foreign talent? 5 tips from a recruitment team

We, as recruiters, all know how difficult it is to find foreign talents for some projects. There are very often many differences and even obstacles. We try to use the best methods that we have but not always they work, why is that? In this article, we will try to answer this question.

Bear in mind different cultures and languages

First of all we need to understand cultural differences and language barriers: not in every country we will have the same recruiting patterns or even working standards: for ex., in Italy it’s important to have a stable contract and know the hiring company even before knowing salary expectations while in other countries the renumeration issue might be the most important.

Also, about the salary, we need to consider the lowest wage in every country as well as cost of living and currency changes. These small details will help you understand if the conditions that you offer are sufficient and it’s worth trying to launch a new recruitment process.

Relocation package: doesn’t always need to be money

Many people are willing to relocate abroad especially to gain new experience, especially if they are freshly graduated students. This is the best moment to attract foreign talents and offer them a great development of their future career. The only problem is that not always they are aware of living abroad and they will need assistance for relocation. Many candidates before moving to another country always ask about any kind of relocation package that can help them decide whether to start their career abroad. It isn’t always about money, it can be some guidance on working styles, finding an apartment or even buying flight tickets.

Remote working possibilities: at least in the first phase of work

Another important fact can be that most candidates very often ask about remote opportunities. Nowadays, after a pandemic situation, it is more natural to ask about this type of working as well as it is easier to hire someone and also find a job. We all know that many companies want to have their employees back on site but for new talents especially when they live abroad it is very often better to start working remotely at least at the beginning of a new job. It will definitely help you attract more candidates without losing the opportunity to get in touch with the best ones and find a long and fruitful collaboration.

More experience = less willingness to relocate

From some of our experience, we can assume that many foreign talents are not willing to relocate once they have settled down with their family. For these candidates it can be more difficult to consider changing countries or sometimes even companies. The older people get, the less likely they are open to changes not only in their private life but also in the professional one. It can also be based on cultural and personal beliefs. Sometimes it seems to be a good solution to look for less experienced talents but focus more on personalities and soft skills of each individual. Supporting career development of the employees and believing in their potential can result in better work and company engagement.

Benchmarking job markets of interested countries

This point can be an obvious one but in some cases extremely difficult, especially if you are a company that does not have any experience in hiring foreign talents or is just about to enter a foreign market. Before starting any recruitment process it is essential to build and prepare a strong analysis of the job market and take into consideration cultural and language differences, economical and sociological aspects as well as working culture. There can be some details that you don’t pay attention to but can result in big problems later, such as contracting types, bonus programs or working conditions in a specific country.

If you are looking for your new foreign talents in Poland or you want to enter into the Polish labour market, we would like to help you to avoid all the difficulties that you are not even aware of. We will take care of all the recruitment procedures not only considering finding the best talents but also helping you implement your company in the Polish market.

4 ways to show your strong points during a job interview

Everyone knows the feeling when you are going to have an interview and you want to prepare yourself in the best way possible. When you start thinking about potential questions that might be asked, you will realize that you have no idea what answers should you should prepare or what to expect from recruiters.

Here are some key techniques that can help you during any recruitment process:

Language fluency and self-confidence gives a better impression than being grammatically correct (except language test of course). When the point you are trying to make is clear and you seem to be very fluent while talking, automatically you sound more skilled and more professional.

Try to give short and precise answers with key words (for ex. about your skills and experience). A lot of recruiters do fast-paced interviews because they just need to know some basic information about you. Focus on your experience!

WHY? – favourite question of all recruiters: Why have you applied for this position? Why did you quit your previous job? Why would you like to move to Poland? Why should we choose you and not others candidates for this position? – these are some of the questions that you can hear during the interview. Just be sure that you know how to answer them in a logical and short way. Also, it is good to think about other WHY questions that can be asked in your specific case.

STAR model – this technique is used by many recruiters all around the world. STAR stands for SITUATION, TASK, ACTION, RESULT. When you give examples of your skills, the best way to support your answer is to give an exact example from your past experience, explaining the situation that you were in, the task that you had to complete, the action that you took to complete this task and what was the result of this action. It will show that you are very reliable candidate, but also your past experience in a nutshell.

These basic techniques are crucial if you want to pass to the next steps of recruitment process in a quick and professional way. Would you like to find out more? Get in touch with our team! We speak different languages and we are always available to provide you with all the answers!

10 things to know about customer service

Customer service is a growing industry and a key factor for a lot of businesses. It has a lot of things to offer to employers and employees. It is no secret that customer service has lots of beneficial aspects to companies, such as customer loyalty, impact on the public image, increased sales. But a lot of people are not familiar with this kind of position and tend to pass on opportunities to work in this sector.

Here are 10 things that you should know about customer service whether you are thinking about working in this area or you already are.

1. Types of Customer Service. There are varieties of customer services which you can choose from the one that is best for you. Whether you like to contact people face to face (self-serve, on-site) or through more traditional ways like via phone or even impersonal like emails, chats, social media.

2. Schedule. People often correlate customer service with night shifts and work during the weekend, but this is not always the case. A lot of companies also offer work from home, freelance work, or a typical 9 to 17 work schedules.

3. Training. Everything you need to work in this area is a high school diploma. The company offers the necessary training that will help you to cope with the difficulties you might come across but also the tools (e.g. CRM software) which will help you keep track of clients and their problems.

4. What happens at work, stays at work. In a lot of jobs people are required to take work home with them, just so they can meet the expectations. This is not the case here. Work stays at the office, giving you the chance to fully use your free time as you wish.

5. It is not all about solving the customer’s problem, but also creating a solid relationship with them. Solving the cumstomers problem is a big part of the job, but it is so much more than that. As customer support, you need to build a connection with the client, make their experience with you memorable enough to talk about it with family and friends – granting the company free promotion. After all, it is more profitable to keep your current clients loyal and satisfied with your services rather than finding new ones.

6. Walk a mile in the customer’s shoes. Generally, customer service is a cakewalk, but sometimes it can be stressful, especially when dealing with unfriendly clients. Unfortunately, this is not something you can avoid but you can turn the situation around. Being patient and empathetic is essential, but so is understanding that their anger is probably not caused because of a malfunction of the company’s product. We all had bad days and took our anger out to the wrong person. Show interest in the customer’s problem, be understanding and try to defuse the situation.

7. Miscommunication. A lot of conflicts or dissatisfaction are created from unnecessary misunderstandings. A customer service representative needs to speak clearly and explain things that might be obvious to themselves but maybe not obvious to the customer.

8. Sales skills. In some situations, people contact customer service when they consider buying a product or use the company’s services, and they need more information. This is the time to shine and persuade them to choose the company or the product over others.

9. Knowledge of the company and its products. The more you know, the better it is. Efficiency is important in customer service and knowing the company’s vision as well as the products and the services they offer. It will give you an edge in solving as many problems as fast as possible.

10. Feedback. Asking the customers for feedback on your services is a great way to help you and the company improve, whether it is positive or negative.
